As technology booms throughout urban India, villages and small communities are left behind. Many impoverished families leave their village in search for work. These seasonal migrants lead wandering lives with whole families settling on hazardous construction sites in hopes to gain a small wage.
Internal migrants do not have access to social security and the benefits that come with a permanent residence. A lifestyle such as this sees families with no secure housing, sanitation facilities and limited access to nutritious food and clean water. In response to this ever-growing crisis Santosh Devi Charitable Trust (SDCT) responds by strengthening the migrant and poor community in Bangalore.
